Citric Acid – ½ cup

Kosher Salt – ½ cup

Why: Acts as a water softener, helping to reduce limescale and improve cleaning performance.

Essential Oils (optional) – 10-20 drops

Why: Adds natural fragrance and offers antibacterial properties. Lemon, orange, or tea tree are great choices for cutting through grease.

Instructions:

Mix the dry ingredients:

In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of washing soda, ½ cup of baking soda, ½ cup of citric acid, and ½ cup of kosher salt. Stir well to ensure everything is evenly distributed.

Add essential oils (optional):

If you want to add fragrance and antibacterial benefits, add 10-20 drops of essential oils. Lemon or orange essential oils help cut grease, while tea tree offers antimicrobial properties. Stir to combine.

Store the mixture:

Transfer the mixture to an airtight container to keep it dry. Make sure to store it in a cool, dry place to prevent clumping, as citric acid can attract moisture.
